A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that supplies that tool. The provider processes the query under its own systems and returns the response. Choctaw County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own servers.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or direct message may be retained long enough to review it and respond. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Its content identifies official routes such as the Choctaw County sheriff and Circuit Clerk, ALEA's Criminal Records Identification Unit, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a dossier about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure rules apply to information submitted through those tools. Review the applicable provider terms before entering a query because this policy does not control the provider's processing.

Alabama's Open Records Act, principally Ala. Code § 36-12-40, governs access to qualifying government writings, while Ala. Code § 41-9-601 restricts unauthorized access to or communication of criminal-offender record information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law and verification, a visitor may:
